33. 14 December 2021 - Loughtonians L1s 1 Harleston Magpies L2s 1I

In the last game before the mid season break in the East Women’s Premier Division Old Loughtonians and Harleston Magpies could not be separated in a closely fought fixture.
Both goals came within minutes early in the second half. Chloe Menear gave Loughts the lead with a fierce penalty corner strike which was deflected into the net by a Magpies defender.
Magpies returned the compliment with an excellent penalty corner of their own 3 minutes later.

The deadlock couldn’t be broken in the closing stages and both sides will remain in the hunt for promotion to the National League when the season resumes in January.

The Loughts ladies all had a good day and good first half of the season. The L2s continued their excellent form with a 5-1 win against Brentwood 2s and are top of their division at Christmas. The L3s had a convincing 5-0 win against local rivals Crostyx 3s and are third. The L4s stay top after a 3-0 win against Crostyx 4s in the second local derby. The L5s match was postponed but the team is still third.

The men’s section has also performed well to date with the M1s, M2s, M6s and supervets all top of their respective divisions at the half way mark.

The M2s had a good 4-0 win on Saturday away against neighbours Waltham Forest 1s. The M3s Foresters are a close second in their division behind Colchester 1s (whom they beat away) after a 5-1 win against Malden 1s. The M4s Academy lost narrowly 2-0 to Witham 1s but the M5s Loppers won 4-1 against Witham 3s. The M6s Willows still have a 100% record after a 9-0 win against Upminster 5s. In the same division the M7s Willows Woodsmen stay 3rd after a 5-1 win against Waltham Forest 4s.The M8s Willows Rangers had a bye and the M9s Willows Axemen had a good 5-0 win. Finally in the London Area Supervets league the boys won 2-1 away at Hampstead and Westminster and stay top.

The colts have also been performing well. The two u14 boys teams won 6-1 against Hertford and drew 2-2 with Cambridge City.
The club wishes all of our neighbours, rivals and friends a merry Christmas.
