The Management Committee has been looking at how to increase participation in women's hockey at Loughts. A recurring factor that prevents many women from returning to sport after having children is flexible childcare. Having considered this, we have been piloting a scheme in conjunction with Sims Nursery which is now on site at the club during week days. The nursery is, at home matches, able to provide a creche for two hours for those members of the Ladies 1st team who require it. If this continues to be successful we plan to roll this out across the club (subject to the nursery being able to enhance its licence beyond two hours on a Saturday).

This is a ground breaking initiative which we hope will benefit players and the club as a whole.
