Although, disappointingly, we slipped from a 1-0 win to a 1-1 draw in the last 5 minutes of the game, a draw was probably a fair reflection of the match. It was a good, keenly contested game, with both teams having chances in their attacking Ds.
OS gave us little time on the ball and their forwards had skill and speed. As on the away leg, it was a nice clean game with few obstructions or stick tackles - which is always a bonus. At times we put together some beautiful passages of team play, with people connecting quickly and accurately. At other times, we gave away the ball too cheaply, with sloppy or headless chicken passes, possibly as a result of the pressure put on us by the oppo.
In the first half of the match at least, our forwards were a little slow to step in front of their markers to meet the ball, but that did improve in the second half.
A mention for our youngest player, Jemimah, stepping up two divisions to help us out. Early in the second half of the game, it was Jemimah who put the finishing touch to a great series of team moves down the right of the pitch to give us our only goal. Well done!
A mention also for Talisa, who I thought had a superb game as sweeper for us (having played in the midfield last week.) Our MoM this week, though, went to Abi, in goal, who made a goodly number of really superb saves.
Well played everyone in what turned out to be a much tougher than expected, and very fast-paced game.
