1. Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Requirements At Old Loughtonians Hockey Club we want all of our young people to enjoy playing hockey in a safe environment and we are committed to providing a welcoming, secure and friendly setting for all to enjoy. In line with England Hockey, Old Loughtonians Hockey Club Limited accepts the responsibility to promote the welfare of young people and protect them from harm, in collaboration with the members of our hockey club, coaches, officials, spectators and importantly parents and families. The general principles of our safeguarding policy are that the safety and welfare of all young people is paramount and that all young people, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, belief, gender reassignment or sexual orientation have a right to be protected from harm.

Cindy Falconer is the club's Welfare & Safeguarding Officer and supports and promotes good safeguarding practice and is the point of contact for all members, parents, coaches, managers and players. Cindy understands the complex and often difficult nature of this area and the appropriate action to take if concerns are raised. She is also responsible for the completion of all DBS checks and appropriate level of safeguarding training in line with England Hockey’s safeguarding matrix, for those who work with our young people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. It is important to highlight that safeguarding is everyone at the club's responsibility and all concerns must be reported to Cindy or in her absence a member of the senior coaching team or management committee, immediately.
