1. Development Plan 2024-29

In 2018 the club adopted a five year development plan . That plan was updated in 2021 and has now been reissued to cover the next five years. The full plan is attached.

It continues to reflect the ethos and aspirations of the Club and addresses the aims and challenges identified.

The Development Plan (supported by a rolling action plan) is intended to be an evolving document and the members of the management committee would welcome ongoing feedback on the Development Plan itself and its implementation.

The key elements of the new Development Plan are as follows.

Ambition

Consolidation for the W1s this season in the East Conference of the National League followed by promotion into Division 1 South.

The M1s continuing to perform well in Division 1 South and and ultimately being promoted back into the Premier League.

All adult teams continuing to play at a level which gives them a fun challenge week in week out.

Continued Success

Building on the success of the Club's Youth and Mini sections and continuing to nurture and develop players from an early age and when ready, to contest and, where worthy, to win County, Regional and National competitions both indoors and outdoors.

A Club for all

Continuing to cater for hockey for all age groups from Minis to Supervets, from any background and for all standards from beginner to elite.

A Club with a home

Continuing to be a Club with a home and to provide members with the excellent facilities enjoyed at Luxborough Lane; a Club of members working for each other for the long term rather than a business offering its wares to those shopping for what they can get rather than what they can contribute.

Financial Stability

Becoming self sufficient through raising finance from renting out office space and storage space and encouraging other compatible sports to establish themselves at the Club.

Allowing a hockey playing and coaching group to run the hockey activities of the Club whilst another group runs the business aspects.

Investment and development of facilities

Investing towards the future to cover the anticipated costs of replacing and renovating the pitches and other facilities. Floodlights have been replaced and other net zero initiatives are planned.

Supporting talent in the local community and wider catchment area

Acting as an England Hockey Talent Centre and Talent Academy for Youth players in the Club's catchment area whilst allowing them to thrive at their home clubs as well.

Providing opportunities for players from all backgrounds locally to play hockey both at school and at the Club.

Welcome home

Always welcoming home players whether from further education or otherwise.
